How We Began And Who We Are Today:
Six professional JHPTS trackers shared a common desire; the formation of a group which would strictly adhere to the teaching, standards and discipline of JHPTS. APTG was formed out of a desire to have a professional tracking organization which had clear, measurable criteria and a high level of accountability. We adhere to the tenets of the JHPTS program. All of our operational members are, at a minimum, Basic certified in the JHPTS program. The founding members have continued to progress into leadership positions within JHPTS. All APTG Instructors are either Instructors or Designated Trainers with JHPTS. APTG is dedicated to serving the law enforcement community. We train specifically to serve law enforcement and to support criminal investigations.
We believe there is one correct methodology to learning to see sign. We are dedicated to the JHPTS training methodology and strictly follow the program. We believe this is the only way an organization can truly demonstrate their professional nature – to know where they came from and why they do what they do.
JHPTS is nationally recognized as the standard for professional tracking training in the Search & Rescue, Law Enforcement and Military environments. JHPTS’ strength is forty years of experience developing and certifying trackers in a program that continually evolves incorporating best practices from professional agencies throughout the country.
Our Mission Statement:
To provide professional, trained and certified trackers in the Mid-Atlantic region to support law enforcement agencies. APTG will achieve this mission through training and tracking application approved by Joel Hardin Professional Tracking Services (JHPTS).
