you will be known forever by the tracks you leave behind. dakota proverb

APTG began operations in June of 2008.  APTG founders desired to create a professional tracking team with defined operational standards, clear measurable criteria and the highest level of professionalism.  We wanted to create a tracking team that would become a “go to” for Law Enforcement Agencies

APTG has evolved from a largely operational team to an elite training entity.  This evolution resulted from the make-up of our current membership and their responsibilities.  All of APTG’s current members are sworn LEOs.  All our members are involved with either the Northwest Virginia Regional Search and Rescue Task Force and/or the Warren County Sheriff’s Office Tracking Team.  Therefore, we respond to operational request for trackers under our agency affiliations.

APTG’s dedication to serving the law enforcement community remains unchanged. Since 2008 we have trained over 160 LEOs representing over 30 agencies.  We have established relationships with law enforcement academies in the Shenandoah Valley that allow us to provide in-service hours for our courses.

APTG utilizes “scenario based training."  APTG provides training under the methodology developed by Blue Line Tracking, LLC.  Certification for our students is thru Blue Line as well.  APTG feels that having an independent organization certify our students offers a higher level of review than if we were to certify them ourselves.

Tracking training is not our "business" it's our passion.  We provide these services to LE because we believe we are providing the best tracking training available.  APTG is non-profit, public charity.  We do not earn our livelihood by providing tracking training.  We are cops too and we want to ensure our brothers and sisters in LE have the best training possible without causing financial stress to them or their respective agencies.  We believe we have created the best law enforcement tracking training available.  However, we invite you to come and give us your opinion.
